Try These Terrific Low Fat Chicken Recipes

1. Chicken Teriyaki

This easy Teriyaki recipe makes a wonderfully flavored dinner with tender chicken that even the kids will love. Easily pairs well with grilled vegetables or a green salad.

Yields: 4-6 servings


  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, halved
  • 4 medium onions, sliced diagonally
  • ½ c water
  • 3 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • ½ Tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • non-aerosol olive oil cooking spray

Method of Preparation:

⦁ In a bowl, stir water, low sodium soy sauce, red wine vinegar, and honey together and set aside.
⦁ Sprinkle chicken with black pepper and grown in a non-stick skillet with non-aerosol olive oil cooking spray on each side for 4 to 5 minutes on medium heat. Remove and put on a plate and cover.
⦁ Add onions, ginger, and garlic to the pan with ½ tablespoon of olive oil. Cook for 1 minute.
⦁ Add soy sauce to mixture and cook for 1 more minute.
⦁ Add chicken back to the pan. Cover and cook on medium heat for approximately 20 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink.
⦁ Serve with rice or a green salad for a healthy and delicious dinner!
